General / OBC (NCL)

• Only Paper-I or Paper-II: ₹1000
• Both Paper-I & Paper-II: ₹1200

SC / ST / Differently Abled

• Only Paper-I or Paper-II: ₹500
• Both Paper-I & Paper-II: ₹600

• Minimum Age: 17 Years
• Maximum Age: No Upper Age Limit

Note : There is no maximum age restriction for the CTET; a candidate may take the exam as long as they fulfill the required educational qualifications.

Candidates wishing to appear for the CTET examination must fulfill the eligibility criteria prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Eligibility primarily encompasses educational qualifications and other essential requirements.

Educational Qualifications

For Paper-I (Primary Teacher – Classes 1 to 5)

Candidates must possess:

• Senior Secondary qualification with at least 50% marks, along with a Diploma in Elementary Education
• OR
• Senior Secondary qualification with 45% marks, along with a D.El.Ed (in accordance with NCTE norms)
• OR
• Graduation, along with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education

For Paper-II (Upper Primary Teacher – Classes 6 to 8)

Candidates must possess:

• Graduation with 50% marks, along with a B.Ed
• OR
• Graduation, along with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
• OR
• Senior Secondary qualification with 50% marks, along with a 4-year B.El.Ed

Number of Attempts

• There is no limit on the number of attempts for the CTET examination.
• Candidates may retake the examination to improve their score.

Validity of CTET Certificate  :The CTET eligibility certificate is valid for a lifetime (as per the latest regulations).

Note: The CTET exam is conducted offline (OMR-based), wherein each question carries one mark, and both papers must be qualified separately.

Candidates can follow the simple steps given below to complete the CTET online application process:

1. First, go to the ‘Links’ section on India Result Times; you will find the application link there.
2. Click on the “Apply for CTET February 2026” link.
3. Complete the registration by entering basic details such as your name, mobile number, and email ID.
4. Carefully fill in your personal, educational, and examination-related details in the application form.
5. Upload necessary documents, such as your photograph and signature, in the prescribed format.
6. Select your preferred examination city and paper (Paper-I / Paper-II / Both).
7. Pay the application fee using online payment modes.
8. Review all the details and submit the form.
9. Download and take a printout of the Confirmation Page for future reference.
