Age limit of CTET February  2026 
  • Minimum Age: 17 Years
  • Maximum Age: No Upper Age Limit

Note : There is no maximum age restriction for the CTET; a candidate may take the exam as long as they fulfill the required educational qualifications.

Eligibility Criteria of CTET Febuary 2026 

Candidates wishing to appear for the CTET examination must fulfill the eligibility criteria prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Eligibility primarily encompasses educational qualifications and other essential requirements.

Educational Qualifications

For Paper-I (Primary Teacher – Classes 1 to 5)

Candidates must possess:

  • Senior Secondary qualification with at least 50% marks, along with a Diploma in Elementary Education
  • OR
  • Senior Secondary qualification with 45% marks, along with a D.El.Ed (in accordance with NCTE norms)
  • OR
  • Graduation, along with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education

For Paper-II (Upper Primary Teacher – Classes 6 to 8)

Candidates must possess:

  • Graduation with 50% marks, along with a B.Ed
  • OR
  • Graduation, along with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education
  • OR
  • Senior Secondary qualification with 50% marks, along with a 4-year B.El.Ed

Number of Attempts

  • There is no limit on the number of attempts for the CTET examination.
  • Candidates may retake the examination to improve their score.

Validity of CTET Certificate  :The CTET eligibility certificate is valid for a lifetime (as per the latest regulations).
