• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: No upper age limit

Important Note:

• There is no maximum age limit for UPTET; this means that any candidate (who fulfills the eligibility criteria) may apply.
• The question of age relaxation does not arise, as no upper age limit has been prescribed in the first place.
• Only your educational qualifications (eligibility) are required.

ElIGIBILITY CRITERIA OF UPTET 2026 EXAMINATION

• Graduation + 2-Year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed / BTC) OR
• Graduation + B.Ed (Valid subject to certain conditions) OR
• Class 12 (50% marks) + 4-Year B.El.Ed OR
• Graduation + Diploma in Education (Special Education)

Note: Final-year candidates may also apply.

• Graduation + B.Ed, OR
• Graduation + D.El.Ed, OR
• Class 12 (with 50% marks) + 4-year BA/B.Sc B.Ed,OR
• Graduation + B.Ed (Special Education)

EXAMINATION PATTERN OF UPTET 2026 EXAM 

NOTE: The total duration of the UPTET 2026 examination will be 150 minutes- that is, approximately two and a half hours. It will consist of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), with each question carrying 1 mark. The best feature of this examination is that there is no negative marking; therefore, candidates can attempt all the questions without any hesitation. The exam will be conducted in both Hindi and English, providing candidates with the option to choose the language that suits their convenience.

HOW TO FILL APPLICATION OF UPTET 2026 EXAM 

1.  First, to apply for UPTET 2026, visit the ‘Link Section’ on India Result Times and click on the ‘Apply Online’ link provided there.
2.  Once the official website opens, complete the One Time Registration (OTR); or, if you are already registered, proceed to log in.
3.  After logging in, fill in all your personal details, such as your name, father’s name, date of birth, mobile number, and email ID.
4. Next, accurately enter your complete postal address and details related to your category.
5.  Now, provide details regarding your educational qualifications, such as Graduation, B.Ed, or D.El.Ed.
6. Subsequently, select either Paper 1, Paper 2, or both, depending on which exam(s) you wish to take.
7. Now, upload your passport-sized photograph and signature in the specified format.
8. Following this, submit the application fee online and verify the status of your payment.
9.  Now, carefully review the entire form to ensure that there are no errors.
10. Finally, click on the ‘Final Submit’ button and take a printout of the application form for your records.

Q3. Is there negative marking in UPTET ?
Ans: No, there is no negative marking of any kind in this examination.

Q4. How many marks are required to pass UPTET ?
Ans: 60% marks are required for the General category, and 55% marks are required for the Reserved categories.

Q5. Does passing UPTET guarantee a job ?
Ans: No, this is merely an eligibility test; there is a separate recruitment process for securing a job.

Q6. Can a candidate attempt both papers ?

Ans: Yes, if a candidate is eligible for both levels, they may attempt both Paper 1 and Paper 2.

Q7. What is the validity period of the UPTET certificate ?
Ans: The UPTET certificate is valid for a lifetime.

Ans: This examination is conducted in offline (OMR-based) mode.

Ans: Yes, candidates who are in the final year of their teacher training course are also eligible to apply.\
